ABOUT JEHANE NOUJAIM

Egyptian-American documentary filmmaker best known for her films Control Room, Startup.com, The Square, and Pangea Day. She has directed over 10 episodes of the popular TV series The Vow.

She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Visual Arts and Philosophy.

She worked as a cinematographer for a number of documentaries, including Born Rich and Only the Strong Survive. In 2019, she directed an episode of the Hulu comedy series Ramy.

She was born in D.C., but her parents moved the family to Kuwait and then Cairo when she was young.

She became a prominent documentarian in the same era as Michael Moore .
