Classical musician known for his interpretations of late Romantic-era composers, especially Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and Bartók.
He debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra when he was 13.
He was chair of the piano department at The Juilliard School.
He performed piano duos with his now-deceased wife, Ronit Amir.
He collaborated with many conductors, including Eugene Ormandy and Leonard Bernstein .
