
Jim Thomas Broyhill
ABOUT JIM THOMAS BROYHILL
American businessman and politician who is best known for serving as a Republican U.S. Representative and Senator from the state of North Carolina. From 1963 to 1986, he represented the Foothills region of the state and served in the United States Senate for four months in 1986.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from UNC, he worked for his father's furniture company in various capacities.
He served as chairman of the North Carolina Economic Development Commission. He was also inducted into the North Carolina Republican Party Hall of Fame.
His father is James Edgar Broyhill. In 1951, he married Louise Broyhill. They had a daughter named Marilyn Beach and two sons, Ed and Phillip.
He and Michael Bloomberg are both politicians.
