Former NFL quarterback who was picked third overall by the Houston Oilers in the 1986 NFL Draft.
He played at Purdue, where he led the NCAA in total offense with 3,589 total yards.
He played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1986 until 1993, then the New Orleans Saints from 1994 until 1996, before concluding his career in 1997 with the San Diego Chargers.
He married Christin Jill Everett in 1993; they divorced in 1997.
He was involved in a heated on-air confrontation with sports analyst Jim Rome after Rome mocked him by calling him Chris Everett, a reference to the female tennis player.
