ABOUT JIM PATTISON

Known best as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the multi-industry and multi-billion dollar Jim Pattison Group, this Canadian entrepreneur donated a large percentage of his fortune to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation and other charitable organizations.

After graduating from high school, he worked for a railway company, a construction business, and a cannery before opening a successful automobile dealership.

In 2008, his name was included on Forbes magazine's list of the world's wealthiest people.

Though born in rural Saskatchewan, he spent the bulk of his childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia. His marriage to his childhood love, Mary, resulted in three children.

He and ATCO Ltd. founder Ron Southern both became successful Canadian entrepreneurs.
