ABOUT JIM MCNEELY
Grammy Award-winning jazz artist and composer of more than a dozen acclaimed albums.
He finished his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Illinois. He became the lead soloist for the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band in 1978.
He worked as the chief conductor of both Denmark and Germany's radio bands.
He had two siblings, a younger sister and a younger brother. His family was residing in Chicago when he was born.
He had a four-year collaborative partnership with the great Stan Getz .
