He attended Marquette High School, where he wrestled. He made his professional MMA debut in September 2014 after winning a bout against Wesley Sullivan at Shamrock FC: Nemesis.

He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been in a long-term relationship with partner Sarah Reger. Together, they have two children, Isaiah and Ariah.
