ABOUT JOE BONNER
Hard bop and modal jazz artist who was hired by drummer Roy Haynes as a replacement for Chick Corea at Harlem's Count Basie 's Club.
He studied at Virginia State College.
He performed with such notables as Freddie Hubbard , Woody Shaw , and Billy Harper during the 1970s.
He was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, but would later relocate to Denver where he would become a fixture on the local jazz scene.
He credited McCoy Tyner and Art Tatum as being his primary influences.
