ABOUT JOHANN BAPTIST CRAMER
London musician who was considered Beethoven's equal in his time, both performing and competing with the composer.
He studied with composer and pianist Muzio Clementi from 1782 until 1784.
He nicknamed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 The Emperor and also published its English printing.
His father was the famed London musical conductor and violinist Wilhelm Cramer.
His compositions were considered to lack the experimentation characteristic of Jan Ladislav Dussek 's work. He was, however, praised for his technical perfection.
