ABOUT JOHANNE DEFAY
French surfer whose accomplishments include a first-place finish at the Vans US Open of Surfing and the Fiji Women's Pro. She was named the 2014 Rookie of the Year on the Women’s World Championship Tour.
She began surfing on Reunion island when she was 8 years old. She began surfing competitively at age 10.
In 2009, she became the youngest-ever European Junior Champion.
Her father was also a surfer.
She and Marco Mignot are both famous French surfers.
