John Clark

ABOUT JOHN CLARK

Member of the Federalist Party who served in the Delaware General Assembly and as Governor of Delaware from 1817 to 1820. One of his main focuses as Governor was to improve public education.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and worked as a farmer.

No known portrait of him exists.

He married Sarah Cook in 1784 and they had a child named Mary.
