He won the Heisman Trophy playing halfback at Texas A&M University in 1957 and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection in the NFL.
He attended Springhill High School in Louisiana.
From 1965-1968, he played for the San Francisco 49ers.
He was born in Marion, Louisiana.
