Wing who played in the NBA from 1974-1984 for the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz, and made the All-Star team in 1976 and 1980.
He played college basketball at Gardner-Webb University, before being selected 25th overall in the 1974 NBA draft.
He is remembered for a cocaine addiction that led him to be one of the first players that David Stern reprimanded after implementing a strong drug policy.
He was born in Vredenburgh, Alabama.
In 1982 Atlanta traded him to Utah in exchange for Dominique Wilkins .
