ABOUT JOHN DUKAKIS

Perhaps best known as the adopted child of 1988 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis , this California-born man also had careers as a music manager and a Hollywood actor. His music clients included Janet Jackson , Boyz II Men, and New Kids on the Block, and he appeared in such films as Split Image and Delusion.

While studying at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, he was cast in a small role in the film Jaws 2. He went on to act in movies, television shows, and Broadway productions.

During the early 1990s, he managed Paisley Park Records, a music production company formed by Warner Brothers Records in collaboration with the singer Prince .

Born John Chaffetz in San Diego, California, he was raised in Boston, Massachusetts by his mother Kitty Dukakis and his stepfather Michael Dukakis. His half-brother, Jason Chaffetz , served as a Republican United States Representative from Utah.

After ending his acting career, he became an assistant to United States Senator John Kerry .
