ABOUT JOHN EDWARD

Best known as the host of Crossing Over with John Edward, this professional psychic and controversial television personality also presented a digital TV series titled John Edward Cross Country.

Before becoming a career psychic, he worked as a medical assistant and a ballroom dancing instructor.

Parapsychologist Gary Schwartz tested Edward's psychic abilities and asserted that they were genuine, though psychologist and skeptic Ray Hyman challenged Schwartz's methodology and conclusions.

Born in Glen Cove, New York, he was raised in the Roman Catholic faith by a father of Irish descent and a mother of Italian heritage. His marriage to Sandra McGee resulted in children named Justin and Olivia.

After publishing a book titled One Last Time, he was interviewed by television host Larry King . His appearance on Larry King Live catapulted him to fame and led to the inception of Crossing Over with John Edward.
