ABOUT JOHN ISAACS
Former guard who played for the New York Renaissance and Washington Bears.
He led Textile High School to a New York City high school championship.
After he retired, he won medals at the New York State Senior Games in tennis and basketball.
His father was from Jamaica and his mother was from Panama.
Playing for the New York Renaissance in 1935, he won the World Professional Basketball Tournament by beating the Harlem Globetrotters, a team that Hall-of-Fame center Wilt Chamberlain later played for.
