John Lamont

ABOUT JOHN LAMONT

Scottish politician who is a member of the Scottish Conservative Party. He is a Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Scotland Office. He is also a Member of Parliament for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.

He studied at the School of Law at the University of Glasgow where he gained a first-class honors degree. He worked as a solicitor at Freshfields in London and then at Brodies in Edinburgh.

In 2014, he became the first UK politician to complete an Ironman Triathlon. He was also the fastest Member of Parliament in the 2018 London Marathon.

He was born in Scotland.

He was appointed as a minister at the Scotland Office by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak .
