ABOUT JON CHU

Film director of Step Up 2: The Streets and the Justin Bieber documentary Never Say Never. He went on to direct critically acclaimed films such as In the Heights and the movie Wicked: Part One .

He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television.

He joined a dance crew called AC/DC or Adam/Chu Dance Crew. He directed the boundary-pushing movie Crazy Rich Asians .

He grew up in Palo Alto, California. In July 2018, he married Kristin Hodges. They had four children together. In October 2024, they announced they were expecting their fifth child together. They welcomed a daughter in November 2024.

He directed the film Step Up 3D starring Alyson Stoner .
