ABOUT JON JANG
Jazz artist who was an influential member of the Asian-American jazz movement. He was known for combining jazz and Asian music.
He obtained a B.M. degree in music performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 1978.
His group the Jon Jang Sextet performed at the 1997 Beijing Jazz Festival.
He was born of Chinese ancestry.
He collaborated with many famous jazz artists, including Max Roach .
