Dutch cartoonist most recognized for his clear line style. He was also once knighted by Queen Beatrix , the reigning royalty of the Netherlands.

He enrolled in school in Eindoven, where he studied industrial design.

He was knighted by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

He was born in Heemstede, Netherlands.

Along with poet Louise Bogan , he made several contributions to acclaimed magazine, The New Yorker.
