ABOUT JOS VAN IMMERSEEL
Flemish musician who became a highly acclaimed fortepianist in Europe. He was known for his stylistic sensitivity and improvisational skills.
He was a student of the organ, piano, and harpsichord at the Antwerp Conservatory where he established the Collegium Musicum.
He won the first Paris International Harpsichord Competition in 1973.
His family was residing in Antwerp, the capital of Flanders and a leading artistic center in the 17th century, when he was born.
He and his period instrument ensemble Anima Eterna toured Europe in 1999, performing Ludwig van Beethoven 's symphonies.
