Criminal who was the boss of the Colombo crime family which came to be known as one of the "Five Families" of the Cosa Nostra in New York.
He was in the U.S. Coast Guard until he was diagnosed with neurosis and discharged and worked ten years as a longshoreman.
He assisted in the creation of the popular film, The Godfather in 1971 which was inspired by him.
He had five children including his sons, Christopher, Joseph and Anthony.
He assisted in the 1971 film, The Godfather starring Marlon Brando .
