Australian actor cast as Haymitch Abernathy in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. He was in the 2019 coming-of-age teen film Bilched and the 2023 film The Speedway Murders. He also appeared in Australian series, including Invisible Boys and Total Control.
He was raised in Sydney.
He played Cal Trask in Netflix's limited series East of Eden, based on the 1952 John Steinbeck novel. In 2025, he played Charlie Roth in the TV series Invisible Boys.
His father is former actor Jeremy Cumpston. His mother is producer and writer Jessica Brentnall. His older brother is Hal Cumpston .
He was cast as a teenage version of the character portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the original The Hunger Games films.
