Judy Meana

ABOUT JUDY MEANA

Panamanian journalist and politician who first gained fame as a television news reporter and presenter. From 2020 to 2021, she served as Governor of the province of Panama.

She attended primary and secondary school at Colegio La Salle. Later, she studied at Instituto Oficial de Radio y Televisión Española in Madrid, Spain.

In 1999, she was awarded the National Journalism Award by the National Association of Journalists.

Her father, José Manuel Meana González, is an architect. Her mother, Judith Barrera de Meana, is a banker.

She was director of information for the Ministry of Government and Justice in 2004, during the administration of Martín Torrijos .
