Juraj Slafkovský

ABOUT JURAJ SLAFKOVSKý

Former first overall pick, hockey player, and athlete that was taken by the Montreal Canadiens during the 2022 NHL draft. In addition to playing in the NHL, he is also a member of the Slovakian men's national team. Primarily, he plays the position of left winger.

He first discovered his passion for hockey as a young boy growing up. During his teenage years, he joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy.

In the year 2022, he made Slovakian history after helping his team win their first ever Olympic medal. Despite his team winning bronze, he was named MVP of the Olympics that year. He stands six feet, three inches tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Košice, Slovakia. He is a second cousin of the canoeist Alexander Slafkovský.

He played alongside Simon Nemec as a member of Team Slovakia during the 2022 Winter Olympics.
