ABOUT JUSTIN MINAYA

Dominican-American professional basketball player who was not drafted. He was signed in 2023 by the Portland Trail Blazers, making his NBA debut on April 4. He played college basketball for South Carolina and Providence.

Despite being an unranked recruit in high school, he garnered multiple offers to play college basketball for South Carolina, UNC Wilmington, Boston University, Illinois, Iona, and UMass. He took official visits to South Carolina and UNC Wilmington before ultimately committing to South Carolina.

He became the first South Carolina men's basketball player to record a triple-double in a game since 1993. He achieved this feat on December 19, 2020, against the Houston Cougars, with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

He is from Harrington Park, New Jersey. He is the son of Omar Minaya, an executive in Major League Baseball.
