In addition to basketball, he played football and soccer growing up.

He was named the 2012 West Coast Elite 25 8U All-Academic Player of the Year.

His older siblings Jorden, Brandon and Lalonie are all athletes as well.

He and Julian Newman were both recognized as potential basketball stars before becoming teenagers.
