ABOUT KAI KARA-FRANCE

New Zealand professional mixed martial artist who is best known for competing in the Flyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of August 1, 2022, he is #3 in the UFC flyweight rankings.

He started practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu at the age of 10. After being bullied for his small stature while attending Mount Albert Grammar School, he started training in mixed martial arts as a whole. He attended the Unitec Institute of Technology and shortly after dropped out.

In 2016, he competed in The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions and appeared in the 24th edition of the reality television series The Ultimate Fighter . His Instagram account kaikarafrance has garnered 250,000 followers.

He and his wife Chardae have a son named Cobi. In February 2023, they announced they were expecting a baby.

In July 2022, he faced former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno in a rematch for the UFC Flyweight Championship, where he lost the fight via TKO in the third round.
