She was named after actress Katherine Hepburn.

After interviewing celebrities for an ABC special, she took the format to Movietime Cable Network and eventually to HBO and Cinemax.

She married her longtime boyfriend, Leif Lewis, in 2007.

Her father was actor Robert Wagner , and her mother, Marion Marshall, was an actress who appeared on many TV guest roles.
