Japanese voice actor who rose to fame for voicing Roronoa Zoro on the long-running anime series One Piece . He went on to voice characters for Hellsing, Inuyasha, and Samurai Champloo. His voice can also be heard in video games like Final Fantasy X and Granblue Fantasy.

He had an early role in the 1996 anime series After War Gundam X.

He has earned representation from the teams at Aoni Production. He was named Best Supporting Actor at the 5th Seiyu Awards for his roles in One Piece and Gintama.

He has two children.

He voiced John Leguizamo 's character for a Japanese dub of Encanto .
