He attended Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, and helped them reach four consecutive state championships. He studied at East Carolina University for two years before being declared for the NFL Draft.

He made his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans in week six of the 2023 NFL season. He finished his rookie season with 47 carries for 396 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns in eight games and two starts.

He is the son of former Ravens player Anthony Mitchell.
