ABOUT KIM MANNERS

Remembered for his extensive directing and producing work on the Emmy-winning television series The X-Files, he also directed sixteen episodes of Supernatural and twelve episodes of 21 Jump Street.

A child actor, he appeared in a Chevrolet commercial spot when he was just three years old. He began his television directing career in the late 1970s, working on eight episodes of Charlie's Angels.

He directed seven episodes of the 1990s television series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

Many of his family members were also active in the television and film industries: his father, Sam, and brother, Kelly, were both TV producers, and his sister, Tana, directed episodes of several series. He died of lung cancer in his late fifties.

He began working on The X-Files during the show's second season, having been recommended for directing and production roles by two of the series' writers, Glen Morgan and James Wong.
