
Kimie Miner
ABOUT KIMIE MINER
Music producer, singer and songwriter known for Hawaiian, jazz and R&B music. She founded the management group Haku Collective to support Hawaiian music artists. Her albums include To the Sea and Kimié Miner. She was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album for the album Hawaiian Lullaby.
At 14, she taught herself to play guitar and began writing her own original songs. She attended Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii. She went on to study at the University of San Diego .
In 2018, she won Female Artist of the Year at the Island Music Awards. She was on the Board of Governors for the Recording Academy Pacific Northwest Chapter. She was also on the Board of Governors for the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts.
She has three children. Her parents are of Hawaiian and Portuguese descent.
She was inspired by artists like Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and Lauryn Hill .
