ABOUT LAILA ROTH
Argentine stand-up comedian and actress who achieved fame with her self-deprecating, eccentric style that pokes fun at relatable experiences and social interactions. She has presented her viral routines on Comedy Central Latin America and been the recipient of both the Estrella de Mar award and the prestigious Silver Seagull at the 2023 Viña del Mar Festival.
She relocated from her hometown in Ceres to Rosario when she was 17 years old to study statistics. She eventually made the decision to leave her studies in order to pursue a performing career and did stand-up in local venues before launching her first one-woman show, Genia capa bueno chau, in 2017.
She has hosted a weekly podcast called Preguntas muy importantísimas, alongside co-host Félix Buenaventura. She appeared on the cover of Ohlalá Magazine in 2024. She has performed on international stages in Chile, Uruguay, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Her father was a doctor. She tragically lost her mother to COVID-19 in 2021. She has shared loving tributes to her spouse, fellow comedian Diego Maggio, on her lailaroth Instagram account.
Both she and Malena Pichot are famous Argentine comedians.
