ABOUT LATOYA THOMAS

Professional basketball player who starred at Mississippi State University and was selected first overall in the 2003 WNBA Draft by the Cleveland Rockers. During her career at Mississippi State, she was a 2-time AP SEC Player of the Year, 3-time AP All-SEC team selection and a 4-time Kodak All-American.

She was named Mississippi's Player of the Year during both her junior and senior years of high school.

She played in the WNBA from 2003 to 2008 for the Rockers, San Antonio Silver Stars, Los Angeles Sparks, Detroit Shock and Minnesota Lynx.

She was born in Greenville, Mississippi and raised primarily by her aunt, Henrine Nichols.

She was taken two picks ahead of Cheryl Ford in the 2003 WNBA Draft.
