American author whose works of historical fiction and young adult literature include I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, and I Survived the Destruction of Pompeii.
She published her first literary work, The Making of Ironweed, in 1988.
The books in her popular I Survived series were illustrated by artist Scott Dawson.
She and her husband have four children.
She and fellow American author Libba Bray both had successful careers as authors of young adult fiction.
