ABOUT LAURENT WAUQUIEZ

Elected President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Council that began serving in January 2016. He formerly held the position of President for The French Republicans Political Party and Secretary of the State for European Affairs.

He graduated from Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

He received his first career job in politics back in 2004 as a member of the National Assembly of France representing the first constituency of Haute-Loire.

He and his wife, Charlotte Deregnaucourt, were married in 2001. Together, they have two children.

He served as the Government Spokesman for France while Francois Fillon was actively serving as the French Prime Minister.
