Daughter of reality TV stars Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley . Her parents appeared on the MTV reality series 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom.
Her mother and father shared a turbulent relationship following her birth. This was often the subject of her time on Teen Mom.
Her mother's episode of 16 & Pregnant was the third ever episode of the series to air on MTV. Her mother eventually relinquished sole custody of her to her father by court order in 2012.
She has one half-sister, Emilee, from her father's 2014 marriage to Kristina Anderson.
