ABOUT LEE ISAAC CHUNG
Award-winning film director, writer, and screenwriter who is best known for his work on the 2020 drama film Minari. He has also gained recognition from his work on Munyurangabo, Abigail Harm and Twisters . He is also a well-respected film producer.
Prior to his film career, he attended Yale University where he studied biology. He later received his graduate degree from the University of Utah .
Due to the highly-acclaimed performance of the drama film, Minari, the movie won over 100 different awards. In fact, Minari also received over 200 different film nominations. He is an alumnus of the U.S. Senate Youth Program. At Yale, with exposure to world cinema in his senior year, he dropped his plans for medical school to pursue film-making.
Growing up, he lived with his family in Denver, Colorado. He was born of Korean descent.
He worked alongside Steven Yeun and Alan Kim during the 2020 drama film Minari.
