He used to work in the A&R department at Motown Records on projects for artists such as Queen Pen and 3LW.
His mother Sylvia Robinson was a famous music producer and founder of Sugarhill Records.
He has children named Leland Jr. and LeA who also star on the show.
He is very close with rapper Darnell Robinson who also stars on First Family of Hip Hop.
