ABOUT LEONARD BORWICK
Concert musician known for his brilliant handling of Schumann and Brahms. Exceptional Royal Academy of Music students received an award in his name.
He became friends with baritone Harry Plunket Greene while in London and the two would go on to have a fruitful collaboration during the 1890s.
His work was both highly praised and strongly criticized by playwright George Bernard Shaw .
He was born to a Staffordshire family who resided in Walthamstow, Essex.
He was taught by Clara Schumann at Frankfurt's Hoch Conservatory.
