He was hailed as a sensation from his very first year at Kentucky, during which he scored nearly 400 points.
An adept close-up shooter, he urged the NBL to introduce the three-second rule, which forbade an offensive player to stay under the basket longer than three seconds.
He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana.
