ABOUT LIM YEW HOCK
Politician who was Singapore's 2nd Chief Minister from 1956 to 1959. He was responsible for negotiating with the British and earning internal self-rule for Singapore.
He served under the first Chief Minister as Minister of Labor and Welfare.
He founded the Singapore People's Alliance, which alienated Chinese-speaking voters, and led to his political downfall.
He became a Muslim later in life and was buried in Saudi Arabia.
He was a Singaporean politician like Lee Kuan Yew .
