ABOUT LINDY WATERS III
Basketball player who has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder , Golden State Warriors , and the Detroit Pistons . He was a part of the 2024 Oklahoma City playoffs team, and played three games in the series.
He announced he would be playing college basketball for Oklahoma State University in November 2015. In August 2018, he was named "Indian of the Year" by an Intertribal Council.
He created the Lindy Waters Foundation to help in supporting native youth through sports, health, and wellness. The foundation created the annual Elevated Native Basketball Tournament that takes place in Oklahoma. He shares highlights from his playing career, including shots of him and his teammates on the court, on his lindywatersiii Instagram page.
He is of Kiowa and Cherokee descent, and is on the rolls of the Kiowa nation. His parents are Lindy Waters Jr. and Lisa Waters.
In February 2025, he was traded to the Pistons, and Jimmy Butler went to the Warriors.
