ABOUT LJUDEVIT GAJ
Linguist and central figure of the Illyrian Movement who was known for devising Gaj's Latin alphabet.
He was born in the town of Krapina.
He obtained an agreement from the royal government of the Habsburg Monarchy to publish a Croatian daily newspaper and he was also a writer of poems.
His father was a German immigrant.
He was a member of the Illyrian Movement, like poet Petar Preradovic .
