Jazz pianist who played with many widely acclaimed musicians before forming Lonnie Liston Smith And The Cosmic Echoes.
He received a Bachelor of Science in music education from Morgan State University.
He performed background vocals on jazz singer Leon Thomas' first album, Spirits Known and Unknown.
His father was a part of the gospel group The Harmonizing Four.
He played with many famous jazz musicians, including composer Miles Davis .
