Presenter who became famous for her work on such ITV programs as Daybreak and Lorraine. An actress as well as a host, she appeared on such Scottish series as River City and Still Game .

She joined BBC Scotland in 1983 as a researcher.

She presented the show Top of the Morning in 1993.

Her marriage to Steve Smith resulted in a daughter named Rosie.

She presented GMTV's main breakfast show with Eamonn Holmes in the early 1990s.
