He made his professional debut in 2003 in the Formula Renault 2.0 Italia series.
He won his first major championship in 2005, the Italian F3000.
He was born in Savigliano, Italy.
At the 2004 Formula Renault 2.0 Italia series he finished third overall, not far behind winner Pastor Maldonado .
