ABOUT LUCIA ANIELLO

Director, writer, and producer who is best recognized for her work as an actress on the Comedy Central series Broad City . She is also known for having written and directed the 2017 feature film Rough Night .

She graduated from Columbia University and went on to take comedy improv classes through the Upright Citizens Brigade. She quickly started her own production company called Paulilu Productions and started directing her digital shorts in 2007.

She has earned several awards for her directing and writing including the "Best of NY Sketch" award at the 2010 New York Comedy Festival.

She was born in Italy; but raised in Hadley, Massachusetts. She married sketch partner and fellow actor Paul W Downs in 2021. They met at Upright Citizens Brigade in 2007. Her and Downs had a child together in 2022.

She co-wrote and directed the comedy film Rough Night where she worked alongside Scarlett Johansson , Zoe Kravitz , and Kate McKinnon .
