American producer and songwriter who has worked with some of the biggest names in modern hip-hop and R&B. Some of his most notable credits include John Legend 's Evolver, Frank Ocean 's Channel Orange and Zayn Malik 's Mind of Mine.
He became active in the music world in the late 90's. One of his first high-profile projects was the soundtrack to the film Get Rich or Die Tryin.'
As a producer, writer, engineer and instrumentalist on Channel Orange, he received a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2013.
His real name is James Ryan Ho. His father is Asian and his mother is American.
He wrote and produced "One Thing" from Alicia Keys ' hit 2012 album Girl on Fire.
